SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) — A family of five were seriously injured from a two-alarm fire in San Francisco’s Mission District Wednesday morning.

The father and two kids were transported to San Francisco General Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The mother and another child were taken to St. Francis with critical injuries.

The fire, now extinguished, may have started on the ground floor of a liquor store on 24th St. near Treat Ave. and then spread upward.

Police have closed 24th Street in both directions between Folsom St. and Treat Ave.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
